If you have taken the time to learn a little about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), you will no doubt have come across two odd phrases, White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO, just what are these exactly?
In simple terms, White Hat SEO is used to describe any Search Engine Optimisation techniques that are ethically correct, and follow all of the search engine best use guidelines, no short cuts are taken and no “cheating” is involved. Black Hat SEO on the other hand, will use significantly less ethical techniques, many of which are fully capable of seeing a website banned from the major search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN.
