Google has had an impact upon online advertisements with Google Adwords and Google Adsense but now they are taking it one step further. By introducing behavioural ads targeting, Google will be able to determine which ads are best suited to each person’s interests and then deliver ads that are more relevant and therefore more interesting for each individual surfer. Whilst many argue the theory behind behavioural ads targeting sounds clever, some view this latest development in online advertising with a hint of caution. It could be argued Google’s “interest-based advertising” (they refuse to use the term behavioural) will make adverts more interesting for the web surfer. But how do they gain this information? What does it mean for your privacy rights? And what does it mean for advertisiers?

The Importance of Bounce Rate
Search engine optimisation can only get your so far. Of course traffic to your site is one of the most important things in internet marketing however it is not the only important thing. You can have the best rankings in the world, however without a good website these rankings can mean very little. At this point it is important to highlight the fact that by a good website I am not talking about pretty images and colours (although this still helps), by good a website I am talking about clear internal linking structures, credibility, trustworthiness, and providing the right content/information to a user.
SEO Tools that Offer Something Different
There are so many SEO tools out there, many of which offer similar features. With new tools being released all the time along with current tools being continually updated it is hard to keep up with what’s new so I’m making it the purpose of this post to suggest just two tools that can offer you something slightly different. I hope you will find them useful.
It is easy to get obsessed with checking your search engine rankings and one of the tools I shall mention is a free utility, which tracks your search engine positioning so you don’t have to check it all the time, but this isn’t its main value. The second tool started out as a DIY linkbuilding tool but now it has a lot more to offer.
Link Pages: Keep Them Sweet
If you are experienced in SEO then this may seem obvious. Even if you are not experienced in SEO then this still may seem obvious. However it seems like a good point to reiterate and this is keeping links pages to a minimum simple and to a minimum of 100 links. I am echoing the sentiments from Matt Cuts in regards to thins and really do feel that this is important when linking both through reciprocal and directory submissions.
Google Isn’t the be all and end all
It is easy when undertaking an internet marketing campaign to get obsessed and even carried away with chasing a position on those high search results pages in Google. You may ask what’s wrong with that? To which I respond- absolutely nothing. The market dominance of Google is there for everyone to see and concentrating Search Engine Optimisation on ranking well in Google is sound business sense. Randy Fishkin, however, has offered readers of SEOmoz some advice.
