Free Twitter Analytics Tools

In September 2011 Twitter announced they were launching Twitter Web Analytics to enable website owners to understand how much traffic their site receives from Twitter and the effect had of integrating Twitter within their site.

However, it is now May 2012 and the analytics still do not appear to have been fully rolled out which leaves some of us wondering what the best way might be to discover our Twitter analytics. I have put together a list of 5 free Twitter Analytics tools that I have used previously:

1. Twittercounter – Using up to 3 different Twitter handles you can produce graphs displaying your followers and tweets for the past 3 month. If you pay with a tweet you can extend this time to 6 months.

2. The Archivist- This site was created by Mix Online, a group of designers and developers based at Microsoft. It allows you to create visualizations for a search term whether it be a Twitter handle, a hashtag or just a keyword. Great features include top words used and the source of the Tweet (e.g iphone)

3. TweetStats - Although you are unable to control the axis of these graphs, the site provides a great overall view of your Twitter activity including the volume of tweets and plots of followers and retweets.

4. Twitalyzer – Providing a great overall summary of stats for a Twitter profile along with an assortment of scores for the performance of that Twitter profile. Data provided includes impact, engagement and clout.

5. TweetLevel – This tool from Edelman isn’t new it has been available for a while. This measurement tool provides some solid base figures for influence, popularity, engagement sand trust and also provides a couple of graphs on your influence and followers.

This list is by no means extensive and if you would like to share a Twitter analytics tool you use and find particularly useful then please do :)
