We are very pleased to announce that our client, Mobile Phones Direct, has won Best Online Retailer in the 2015 What Mobile Awards—for the third year running. Although their first-rate customer service, speedy delivery and wide range of good deals are surely responsible for this recognition, we’d also like to think that our online marketing helped customers locate and enjoy their online experience with Mobile Phones Direct.
One of the most enjoyable pieces we did with Mobile Phones Direct was Mobile Phone Crash UK Live. This piece of content marketing was intended to enhance the experience of potential and returning visitors and to do so in a way that fit with the light, fun tone of the Mobile Phones Direct brand.
When the visitor lands on the page, they see tallies of tweets about phones that have been lost, dropped, broken or that have dead batteries as well as the total number of phones that have bit the dust in the last 24 hours. Each category has its own interactive illustration, such as the phone-stealing squirrel for Lost Phones.
Other work we have done for Mobile Phones Direct has included an SEO site migration, ongoing SEO and a PPC campaign. Mobile Phones Direct was an ideal client during the migration. They built their new ecommerce system in house but they were happy to take direction from Blueclaw regarding various issues that could have an impact on SEO, including the prioritisation of 301 redirects, url structures, site hierarchy, canonical tags, meta robots instructions and the xml sitemap.
After the successful site migration, Blueclaw managed Mobile Phones Direct’s SEO campaign and achieved a drastic improvement in results. Transactions have increased by 372%, sessions have increased by 340% and new users have increased by 293%.
The established PPC campaign also experienced significant improvement through the identification and correction of certain weaknesses in the account. Blueclaw has increased click through rates by 42%, PPC transaction volume by 20% and we decreased the cost per acquisition by more than 20%.
